ASSEMBLE FEST
Menu
Ah, Happy Hour. Happy Happy Hour. Cocktails for two, half price pints – long afternoons whiled away in the beer gardens of Hull, sun shining and eyelids drooping. Blissful…. Well, it’s got nothing on the Assemble Fest Happy Hour! OK, so there’s no alcohol involved, I’ll grant you that. But for us here at Assemble Fest HQ, Happy Hour symbolises all that is important about our little festival. Between 1pm and 2:30pm on Saturday 23rd May, we will be offering all of our commissioned theatre pieces through a pay-what-you-can system. So instead of paying full price for your ticket (which to be honest are cheap as chip spice already), all you have to do is delve into your pockets, pull out a little change and give a donation that you feel the show was worthy of. Simples. Why are you doing this we hear you cry. Two reasons – firstly, we donate all of the money raised through the Happy Hour back to one of Newland Avenue’s independent businesses. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them, so we want to give something back. Secondly, we want Assemble Fest to be accessible to all. Even if you’re a bit strapped for cash, we don’t want you to miss out on the wonderful work our companies have produced. So just rock up, give what you can, and make sure you get there early! Entry is on a first come, first served basis. Maximum capacity for each show is 50 (apart from Hansel which is 15), and the Happy Hour show times are as follows: Broken Little Robots – The Roaring Girls @ Ella Street Social – 1:15pm The Cautionary Tale of Horrid Ham Carver – Bellow Theatre @ The Rosebery Garden – 1:15pm Frocks, Fake Locks & Two Smokin’ Lasses – PinUpRound @ Level – 1:30pm Hansel – Silent Uproar @ Piper (starting point) – 1:45pm Protest Will Ensue - Open Umbrella @ The Methodist Church Hall – 2pm So if you’re planning on heading down, don’t know if you want to yet or don’t have much to spend, why don’t you come for one of our Happy Hour shows? Go on, give it a try, we know you won’t regret it. Author: Mungo Arney, Producer
